Michelle Salz-Smith - CID, NCIDQ
Principal Interior Designer
Michelle is the founder and principal interior designer of Studio Surface. Originally from the Midwest, and following a stint in Dallas, Michelle headed to southern California where she led an office and design team for an established commercial interior design firm. In 2009 she branched out on her own and created Studio Surface. Influenced by the aesthetics and attitudes from the various regions she has lived, Michelle draws upon her love for all things design and lifetime of visual experiences to create unique designs for her clients. Michelle is a nationally licensed Interior Designer [NCIDQ] and professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers [ASID] as well as a Certified Interior Designer [CID] in the state of California with a BFA from the Art Institute of Dallas.
When Michelle isn't designing spaces, you can find her searching for the perfect happy hour spot which ignites “creativity and inspiration” she says.
Jennifer Anderson
Director of Interiors
Graduating from Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles CA, Jennifer has gained more than 10 years of design experience. She has developed extensive skills across several industries within the design realm working on hospitality, multi-family and residential projects. Her past involvement with renowned design firms such as Commune, Kelly Wearstler and Shawn Hausman Design, has allowed Jennifer to add a refreshing and creative twist to each project.
When Jennifer can’t be found in the studio, she’s been known to sneak away on camping expeditions to the beach or a desert.
